‘You Are Just Jumping Off a Cliff’: Greg Gutfeld Says Co-Host Jesse Watters Is Going off the Deep End With Rant About Women
Fox News host Greg Gutfeld told co-host Jesse Watters he was “jumping off a cliff” on Wednesday after Watters claimed he hoped there would not be a female president in his lifetime.
Watters made his remarks on The Five in response to a recent interview with Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) where the former Speaker of the House told MS NOW’s Ali Vitali that she might not live to see a female president.
“Well, Nancy says there will not be a female president in her lifetime, and I say thank god,” said Watters in response. “I hope there is not a female president in my lifetime.”
When questioned by co-host Jessica Tarlov over why he would make such a remark, Watters listed off a string of claims about women in leadership roles that he claimed “many people” were saying. Gutfeld interjected, telling Watters he was only voicing the controversial opinion because he was “bored.”
Read their exchange below:
TARLOV: Why would you say that?
WATTERS: You know what many people are saying, Jessica? Many people are saying, do women have the –
GUTFELD: You are just jumping off a cliff just because you are bored.
WATTERS: –emotional maturity to be president.
GUTFELD: You are just bored.
WATTERS: Many people are saying, do they have the personal contacts in the business world to manage the economy? Many people are saying, Greg, do women have the respect of the generals?
GUTFELD: Who said that?
WATTERS: Many people are saying women don’t have the sense of humor to be president. I’ve heard that from a lot of people. None of those things I believe. But I believe Gavin Newsom could be the first woman president. Because when I hear him talk, he sounds like a woman. The kind of emotional instability, you don’t know whether he’s having a mid-life crisis, an identity crisis, a crisis of confidence. I’ve read the book, and it’s great, and he has so much potential with his athleticism, his hair, he’s a genuinely nice guy. But the only reason he is running for president is to prove his worth to his father and to get back at all the bullies who beat the crap out of him in middle school. Now I’m saying don’t run for president, run to see a psychiatrist instead.
