WATCH: Shock Video Shows Las Vegas Streets Turned Into a River After Being Hit By Rare Tropical Storm

Wild scenes unfolded in Las Vegas over the weekend and into Monday morning as tropical storm Rachel produced record-setting rainfall on Sunday for the desert city.

Las Vegas received almost 1.1 inches of rain on Sunday morning, which blows past the daily record for the city of 0.78 inches set in 2012.

The sudden downpour led to flooding in some of Las Vegas’s most iconic areas, with videos showing streets turned into rivers just outside of The Sphere.

Fox News reported on the damage from Rachel on the California coast, noting several homes were damaged by strong waves and flooding in Long Beach.

Fox News correspondent Natalie Chuck added, “And it wasn’t just the coast impacted. This swift water rescue unfolded inland in San Bernardino. Two people were found in a tunnel that feeds into a flood control channel after one of the victims called 911, saying they were trapped by the rising water. Plus, in Las Vegas, this parking garage completely flooded. Videos also showed that parts of the Strip were underwater as well. Now, out in Arizona and Utah, we can expect to see rain throughout the rest of today as that storm makes its way to the northeast.”
