Vivek Ramaswamy Roasted for Botched Attempt at Picking Up a Child During Trump Rally: ‘Worse Than Dukakis in the Tank’
Republican Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has recently found himself on the wrong end of some viral moments. On Saturday, it happened again.
Speaking at a President Donald Trump rally in Vandalia, OH, Ramaswamy invited a young child on stage with him.
“I’ll pick you up,” Ramaswamy said to the child — attempting to lift him above the podium.
But as he tried to hoist him up, Ramaswamy nearly dropped the child, and scrambled to keep him from falling.
“Whoa!” Ramaswamy said sheepishly. “Big guy!”
Numerous observers likened the awkward moment to Michael Dukakis’s infamous 1988 photo-op inside a battle tank.
And many others on both sides of the aisle roasted the gubernatorial candidate.
The moment undoubtedly won’t help Ramaswamy as he’s locked in a tight battle with Democrat Amy Acton to succeed Gov. Mike DeWine (R-OH). Most recent polls show Acton ahead by several points.
