President Donald Trump has claimed he’s done “joking” about running for the White House in 2028 — but he’s definitely got future presidents on his mind, according to a report in The Washington Post.

Trump is reportedly pushing to turn part of his West Palm Beach Golf Club into a presidential retreat akin to Camp David, the outlet reported.

His lawyer, Harvey Oyer, even compared the property to Windsor Castle in a recent proposal to local officials, according to the story Wednesday:

“Just as Camp David, Windsor Castle, or the Elysee Palace are known worldwide, so too will the Presidential Golf Course in Palm Beach County,” Harvey Oyer, a lawyer representing the Trump course, wrote to the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners in a letter last month.

Oyer asked the county, which owns the property the course is on, to provide a piece of the land to the federal government, and he promised Trump would pay for the construction of a presidential residence and facilities on that land.

Oyer told The Washington Post that a name has yet not been selected for the presidential golf course.

“It would further cement Palm Beach County as one of the most recognizable brands and destinations in the world,” Oyer said.

A White House official who spoke on condition of anonymity made an argument for the planned retreat, telling The Post it’s a “world-class property.”

“The property is minutes away from the Donald J. Trump International Airport, does not have buildings looming, does not have houses along the course, has great security features, is close to law enforcement, and happens to be a highly-rated golf course,” the unnamed official told the outlet.

“These are features that are necessary for any presidential retreat,” the official added.

The club sits on property owned by Palm Beach County. The plan was first reported by The Palm Beach Post.

A local official said the county is taking the proposal seriously.

The Trump family is expected to continue operating the golf club and would most likely benefit from increased business brought by the planned presidential retreat, according to the report.

Palm Beach County Administrator Joseph Abruzzo told WashPo the local government is in contact with the federal General Services Administration and will be picking a piece of land for the proposed facility.

“My understanding is that President Trump views this as a lasting contribution to the presidency and to those who will hold the office after him,” Abruzzo told the outlet.
