President Donald Trump promised a “Surprise!” in the upcoming midterm elections — while bragging about the crowd size at his recent red state rallies.
Trump, taking to his Truth Social account on Tuesday morning, said “nobody has seen anything like it” in regard to the crowd sizes in places like Nebraska, Ohio, and Oklahoma.
“My Rally crowds and enthusiasm are unbelievable! Nobody has ever seen anything like it,” he said.
“We are flipping races all over the place. The Fake News knows it, but they don’t want to be truthful with their viewers. It’s all happening!
“The Dumocrats never counted on this. Thanks you to the great Networks that are covering the Rallies in full. They are being rewarded with BIG RATINGS,” he wrote.
He added: “Watch for the “Midterm Surprise!”
Trump’s remarks came hours after he addressed a crowd in Grand Island, Nebraska, where fans cheered as the president remarked, “And again, remember, with the war, it’s just artificial. It’s a little bit high. It’s a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They could take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay, and it’s gonna be over with very soon.”
The remarks drew widespread condemnation before several defenders — and even well-known Trump fact-checker Daniel Dale of CNN — snapped back, claiming the president was not encouraging Iran to strike American cities.
The war with Iran, which began Feb. 28 with joint airstrikes with Israel, recently passed the seven month mark.
