President Donald Trump is all set to host “the most exclusive dinner in the world” for the 185 people who spend the most on his memecoin, The Washington Sun’s Jeff Stein reported Thursday.
Stein took to X, where he reshared an apparently AI-generated illustration depicting a significantly younger and slimmer Trump seated at a dinner table and pointing toward the viewer. “NEWS: Trump to host “most EXCLUSIVE DINNER IN THE WORLD” for top 185 purchasers of his meme crypto,” Stein captioned the image.
“Buying $1M (or less!) worth of $TRUMP coin should get you in Nov 22 Trump has pocketed $635 million,” he continued. “Investors down +$4 billion on Trump crypto.”
Stein also linked to the dinner invite.
The invitation, which is shared on the GetTrumpMemes.com website, describes the event as “an evening with 3 Legends and President Donald J. Trump” and promises the top 29 buyers of the coin will get to attend a “VIP Reception with YOUR FAVORITE PRESIDENT.” The four highest donors will also receive an 18-karat Trump brand gold watch.
The president previously held a similar dinner last May, Stein reported, and “faced substantial backlash” to the event, whihc was hosted at the Trump National Golf Club. In April, he held a similar event at Mar-a-Lago.
In July, CNN reported Trump’s memecoin had plummeted in value. Inside Politics host Dana Bash noted at least 740,000 people have lost money after investing in the coin.
“So this is the $TRUMP meme coin, just to be specific, and crypto analytics firm estimates that 58 investors into the $TRUMP coin made profits above 10 million,” Bash explained. “At the same time, 764,000 wallets lost money, per The New York Times.”
Kristen Holmes added, “It went down 98%, [which] is what we looked at yesterday, and of course, at the same time, you have President Trump saying that he did so well because the markets were up. But one of the things that he made this vast fortune on in the market has obviously completely tanked in that case.”
