Britt McHenry, a former Trump administration staffer, was reportedly forced to resign from her State Department position after a viral video showed her throwing a drink at a fan during an NBA game — just hours after she had received a promotion.

According to a Friday report from Page Six, McHenry’s brief stint in her new position ended abruptly on Thursday after she was involved in an altercation at Wednesday night’s Washington Wizards-Milwaukee Bucks game.

The former ESPN reporter worked as a State Department press adviser covering Europe and Africa before being promoted Wednesday to oversee External Affairs & Press for Under Secretary Jacob Helberg’s team.

But her courtside controversy quickly overshadowed the promotion.

“She was forced to resign [over the incident],” a source familiar with the matter told Page Six. “She was promoted and fired within 24 hours.”

A State Department spokesperson declined to address the reported departure, telling the outlet, “We do not comment on internal personnel matters.”

TMZ first posted the footage Thursday, showing McHenry tossing a beverage toward someone in the stands before departing to a chorus of boos.

Sources close to McHenry told TMZ that the confrontation began when nearby spectators allegedly made disparaging remarks about model Winnie Harlow, who is engaged to Bucks player Kyle Kuzma.

Page Six’s source backed that claim up, adding, “They were saying he plays terribly because his girlfriend’s ugly.”

McHenry reportedly intervened before the spectators turned their attention toward her, allegedly making misogynistic comments and throwing objects — per the Page Six source, a drink — in her direction, resulting in the former State Department staffer throwing a drink of her own.

As she made her way out, McHenry waved and blew kisses at the jeering crowd. Additional footage showed her questioning an arena security guard, “What did I do?”

Despite apparently being escorted out, sources close to McHenry told TMZ she left the game willingly to visit the bar.

As Page Six noted, McHenry previously faced professional consequences for another viral confrontation in 2015, when ESPN suspended her after footage emerged of her insulting a towing company employee.
