Trump Posts Wacky Video Boosting Lake America Name Change: ‘Protected by Donald Ducks’

They’re ready to take aim at anyone squawking over Lake America.

President Donald Trump posted an objectively hysterical video to Truth Social Saturday boosting his decision to rename Lake Ontario amid a trade war with Canada — showing a terrifying army of mutant Canadian geese with machine guns.

As the theme to Hawaii 5-0 plays, the group of geese, typically known as a “gaggle,” marches along the shores of the lake with what appears to be the Toronto shoreline in the background.

The fowl feature muscled human arms holding their weaponry, and periodically squawk and flex their wings as they stalk the shoreline, with American flags fluttering behind them.

The 34-second clip, apparently created and posted on X by an account with the handle @JonCovering, ends with the birds simultaneously raising their guns and firing into the air as fireworks blast in the background and the words “LAKE AMERICA” can be seen in the foreground, in Trump’s signature gold lettering.

Trump posted the video, then reposted it minutes later with the creator’s caption: “Lake America — Protected by Donald Ducks” and an American flag emoji.

The naming spat over one of the five Great Lakes came about after trade talks between the United States and Canada failed late last week. The breakdown prompted the United States to follow through with threats of 50% tariffs on Canadian imports while  Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney promised to match those tariffs “dollar for dollar.”

What followed was a war of words that involved Ontario Premier Doug Ford, who publicly asked if Trump “wants to hurt Americans” with the trade war, and Trump slamming Ford as a “flunky.”

Trump’s attempt to rename one of the Great Lakes comes after he infamously declared the Gulf of Mexico would be renamed the “Gulf of America,” prompting some companies, including Google, to follow along while others, such as the Associated Press, would not.

Critics, including the Seneca Nation, have slammed Trump for the renaming effort, with MS NOW’s Chris Hayes ripping the president as “deeply pathetic.”
