The bomb sale would be paid for with cash from American taxpayers, according to the report.
According to the report, the deal would include 40,000 bombs — 20,000 MK-84s and 20,000 BLU-117s — along with 20,000 I-2000 Penetrator warheads.

President Donald Trump’s administration is readying a massive, $2.8 billion taxpayer-funded sale of bombs to Israel, according to a report.
The deal would be the largest single sale of the devastating, 2,000-pound bombs in the last few years, one U.S. official told The Washington Post, which did not publicly identify the source.
While the United States has sold munitions to Israel before, this deal would dwarf previous ones. The Biden Administration at one point stopped sending the 2,000-pound bomb to Israel over fears it would result in the deaths of Palestinian citizens.
One expert told the outlet Israel is known for using the immense bombs to root out targets.
Trevor Ball, who once worked as an explosive-ordnance-disposal technician for the U.S. Army, confirmed the destructive ability of the bomb in question.
