Trump Accuses ‘Radical Left Democrats’ of ‘Going CRAZY With Fake Polls,’ Insists ‘We’re Winning Against EVERYONE’

President Donald Trump fired off an unhinged rant against “radical left Democrats who are “going CRAZY with fake polls” on Monday morning.

The president, who didn’t offer examples of the polls that apparently incensed him, posted the following screed to Truth Social:

The Radical Left Democrats are going CRAZY with Fake Polls. They’re putting them out at levels never seen before. They’re called, “Demoralization Operations,” where they try to demoralize Republicans so that they don’t go out and vote — But the actual Polls are tremendous, and the Spirit in our Country has never been higher. We’re winning against EVERYONE, including Iran, whose Country is in Economic and Military Death Spiral. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

There are any number of polls and surveys the president could have become angered by. The Cook Political Report released August 20 indicated one Democrat and five Republican Senate seats are in “toss-up” status ahead of this year’s midterms; Senate polls released by Real Clear Polling in August appear to indicate Democrats have an advantage.

It’s also possible the president is referencing the reveal that polls conducted by a company known as Median Strategies have since been revealed to be fake. Rahil Prakash, who recently graduated from college, told The Guardian he set up the website for the company as a “short-term social experiment” to see how fake polls “could enter and spread through the political information ecosystem without independent verification.”

The polls shared by Prakash were used by Karen Bass in her mayoral race, a result Prakash didn’t seem to anticipate.

“Did I expect it to perhaps expedite in the way it did? Most definitely not,” he told The Guardian. “I did not expect the California political press to pick it up on their own. I’ll apologize straight out to the campaigns of Karen Bass, Nithya Raman and Francesca Hong for this”
