‘Treasonous SCUM!’ Trump Fumes Over Media’s Iran Coverage in Wild Truth Social Posts

President Donald Trump trashed news outlets reporting on strains to U.S. ammunition stockpiles as “treasonous SCUM” Thursday in a social media outburst claiming the media would rather see Washington lose its war with Iran than “see me WIN!”

Trump launched the broadside in a pair of Truth Social posts as scrutiny continues over the toll the months-long conflict has taken on supplies.

“The people and Media Outlets that keep harping on the fact that we have no ammunition (And they are 100% wrong!), are actually treasonous. They do it because they would rather see the United States LOSE a War that we’re easily WINNING, than see me WIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” the president wrote.

Trump followed up minutes later with an even more blistering attack on the coverage.

“For the treasonous SCUM that refuses to accurately report on our Military Operation in Iran, we have virtually unlimited amounts of Mid to High Grade Ammunition, far more than we could ever use for this, or for any other War (which is highly unlikely!), that could improbably take place,” he wrote.

The president said the U.S. was producing munitions “at levels never seen before” and stockpiling weapons for potential future conflicts, while temporarily prioritizing American inventories over sales to allies.

Trump also blamed his predecessor for pressure on U.S. supplies, claiming the Biden administration “gave far more Munitions away to Ukraine, at no cost to them, whatsoever, than we have used in Iran.”

The president’s claims come amid extensive reporting that the Iran war has placed significant strain on U.S. weapons reserves. The Wall Street Journal reported last week that heavy expenditure during the conflict has depleted stocks of key weapons, including Patriot interceptors and other precision-guided munitions, raising concerns among officials about U.S. readiness for other potential conflicts.

Reuters, likewise, reported that the Pentagon is moving aggressively to replenish supplies. The Navy awarded Raytheon a $22.9 billion contract in August aimed at increasing annual Tomahawk missile production from around 60 to more than 1,000, amid a depletion which the outlet linked to use in the Iran conflict.

The ammunition dispute has dogged Trump for weeks. In August, the president similarly rejected reports of shortages and threatened jail for officials responsible for leaking information about U.S. stockpiles.
