SNL Pillories Trump-Mamdani Bromance — Paints Natalie Harp as a Trump-Crazed Maniac in Wild Season Opener

Saturday Night Live kicked off its 52nd season with a rollicking take on the relationship between President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani — complete with a swipe at Trump aide Natalie Harp.

In the first sketch back from its four month hiatus, SNL showed Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) dropping in on Mamdani (Ramy Youssef) — ostensibly to check in ahead of the powerful nor’easter which has punished the east coast.

“I missed my day 1, Zohran Mamdani — because for some reason that no one can figure out, I really, really like you,” SNL’s Trump said — on the heels of the convivial real-life meeting between the two on Monday. The faux president added, “We’re like one of those unlikely animal friendships, like when a tiger gets together with a baby goat. When I see stuff like that, I want to text it to you and say, this could be us!”

From there, the sketch took on Trump threatening Iran during his speech at the United Nations on Tuesday.

“I took your advice on Iran for my speech at the UN,” Trump said.

“Wait, so you said we need to work towards a ceasefire and sustain peace?!” Mamdani replied.

“Oh, I could have sworn you told me to say, ‘I’m going to annihilate you!'” Trump shot back.

Moments later, SNL’s Ashley Padilla entered — playing the role of Harp. And Padilla was unsparing in her portrayal — painting Harp as utterly obsessed with Trump.

“Baby boy, you’ve been on my mind!” SNL’s Harp sung to Trump — channeling the lyrics of the famous Beyonce song.

“Isn’t she great?” Austin Johnson’s Trump said. “She’s like the girl from Obsession, but blonde.”

Padilla contorted her face to strike some poses designed to make her seem crazy.

“I’m kidding! I’m totally normal,” Padilla’s Harp said, with nervous laughter. “I totally am normal.”

Then, whispering to Mamdani, Harp went full-on maniac.

“If you hurt him, I will end you,” she said.
