Piers Morgan and Ben Shapiro Trade Nasty Jabs, Accuse Each Other of Being ‘Clickbait Whores’

Piers Morgan and Ben Shapiro traded personal and professional insults this week, following Morgan’s banning Shapiro from his internet debate show.

Shapiro and Morgan have been feuding for a good part of the year as the two pundits have found themselves on opposite sides of the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Morgan had repeatedly offered Shapiro to come on his show and discuss the topic, which Shapiro declined.

In March, Shapiro branded Morgan the “Jerry Springer of political television” and accused him of platforming America-hating guests in low-level, non-intellectual debates. Morgan accused Shapiro of becoming a “cancel culture vulture” in response.

At the time, Shapiro specifically called out Morgan for regularly having on comedian Dave Smith, who claimed “America is arguably the worst terrorist organization in the world.”

On Wednesday, a social media user with just over 100 followers posted a reply to Morgan, writing, “People stopped watching Ben but you still want him on your show? Hilarious.”

Morgan responded, “No, @benshapiro is now banned from @PiersUncensored – he’s become ratings kryptonite so I can’t risk him dragging down my massive numbers.”

Shapiro, the longtime conservative podcaster and Daily Wire co-founder, hit back, “Oh no you’re banning me from a show I announced publicly I wouldn’t do months ago because you’re Political Bonnie Blue, whatever will I do now.”

“Also, I’ve been reliably informed by midwit British clickwhores that denial of platform is a violation of free speech principles and censorship, or something,” Shapiro later mocked in reply.

Shapiro later released a clip blasting Morgan and his interview with recent deportee Milo Yiannopoulos. “Don’t follow the retardosphere. If you do, you may end up deported, blur-eyed, cross-eyed on Piers Morgan’s Jerry Springer-Click-Bordello. This is the theme of today’s show,” Shapiro began, adding:

There are lots and lots of people in our public life who grift for clicks and cash, and you can tell who they are by the fact that they shift their views and their personas on a routine basis, kaleidoscopically. You’re constantly asking yourself, “Hey, what happened to that guy? What happened to her?” They didn’t used to be that way.

We’re going to go through some of these people because they are, in fact, shaping our political life in all the dumbest ways — because people love car wrecks. They like to watch car wrecks. A lot of these people get pretty good numbers, and then they use those numbers to proclaim that they are on the cutting edge of populist politics, and then actual political figures follow them.

So here is a solution: do not donate your attention to them. There are only so many breaths you have in this life, and you’re not going to get these breaths back.

Morgan shared the clip and added, “BREAKING: Humbled to see Little Benjy @benshapiro has used me to shamelessly and hypocritically clickbait-whore his floundering show in a desperate attempt to get his viewing numbers up!”

Piers later replied to another social media user who lauded Shapiro for remaining intellectually consistent over the years. “Ironically, Ben has proven himself to be an amoral, intellectually dishonest click-whore, especially about Israel, which is why nobody watches him anymore, and they all watch me instead,” wrote Morgan.
