NEW POLL: Democrats Have a More Positive View of Socialism Than Capitalism By a Whopping 26-Point Margin

With a battle for the soul of the Democratic party on the horizon, a new poll signals that socialists may have the upper hand over capitalists in 2028 primaries.
According to a new CBS News poll out Sunday, Democrats have a dramatically more favorable view of socialism than capitalism. The poll found that, among Democrats, 58 percent have a positive view of socialism, while just 18 percent have a negative view. Conversely, the poll found just 32 percent of Democrats have a positive opinion of capitalism, while 50 percent see it negatively.
That gap becomes even wider when narrowed down to those with a college degree. Among that demographic, 71 percent view socialism favorably, compared to a paltry 16 percent who see it unfavorably.
The poll suggests, though, that the anti-capitalist sentiment is not shared by the broader electorate. Just 35 percent of all Americans have a positive opinion of socialism according to the poll, compared to 42 percent who view it negatively. Capitalism is seen positively by 46 percent of the CBS poll’s respondents, and negatively by only 33 percent.
Still, though many Americans support the capitalist system, there is widespread disenchantment with the current capitalist economy overseen by President Donald Trump. A whopping 65 percent of Americans rate the current economy “fairly bad” or “very bad,” according to the poll. Worse yet for the White House, just 5 percent of Americans believe the economy is “very good,” with another 26 percent thinking it is “pretty good.”
