Netflix Has Already Made a Documentary About Trump’s Decoy Plane

What a turnaround!

Netflix announced on Tuesday that it has already made a documentary chronicling the events of July 8, when President Donald Trump was covertly moved from Air Force One to another plane after officials received a credible threat to his life from Iran.

Accompanying the announcement from the streaming giant was a trailer for the new film, Instadocs: The Decoy Plane, which will be available on Sept. 4, less than two months after the incident.

In it, Associated Press chief White House photographer Alex Brandon details the unusual events leading up to the flight.

This July, while flying back from a NATO summit in Turkey, President Trump slipped off Air Force One in a catering truck and secretly boarded a different aircraft — leaving traveling reporters to fly on, unaware the president was no longer with them.

Two catering vehicles against the plane was a curious sight he hadn’t seen in 40 years on the job. So he pulled out his camera.

“I shot it,” he said. “I shot the sh*t out of it.”

“We get out, I may be the first or second person out of the bus,” Brandon added. “The president’s already up the stairs. Trump enters the plane. We rush in. We sit down. We get on the plane. Don’t really think anything more of it. The second unusual thing happens.”

The camera then cuts to Gram Slattery, Reuters’ White House national security correspondent, who said the assembled press was told by White House staff to lower their window shades.

“My little Spidey sense is up now,” Brandon added. “I don’t know why this is happening, and I’m on high alert.”

The operation at Turkey’s Ankara Esenboga Airport remained shrouded in secrecy until an Aug. 10 Washington Post report detailed the escape.

Reporters, photographers, and even White House staffers remained on the plane, unaware the president had gotten off, cramming into a catering truck with a few close aides, including Natalie Harp.

After the news got out, enraged critics torched Trump as a “coward” and blasted him for essentially leaving the unknowing Americans to die in a plane that could have possibly been shot down by Iran. On the right, pundits fumed about the story getting out in the first place.
