Crowd Yells ‘Lock Him Up!’ as JD Vance Attacks Abdul El-Sayed

Shouts of “Lock him up!” emanated from a Michigan rally Thursday after Vice President JD Vance called Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D) one of the “worst people.”

Vance has been crisscrossing the country to campaign for vulnerable Republicans like former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), who narrowly trails El-Sayed 45% to 48.1%.

“I know Mike Rogers, ladies and gentlemen,” Vance began. “I imagine a lot of you have gotten to know him a little bit. You don’t see what he says in private or who he is in private. I know who he is, and he is a good man. He is a decent man. You won’t agree with him on every issue, but he is a person who knows that his job is to fight for you every single day. On the other hand, on the flip side, you have one of the worst people running in the history of the United States of America. A person who represents the far left.”

“Lock him up!” someone yelled from the crowd, as another person parroted the sentiment. Vance pointed in their direction.

“Sir, you can say that but I can’t,” Vance said, as several people in the crowd attempted a chant, which fell flat.

“Because you know what, ladies and gentlemen? November the third is meant to be a test. The far left, the radicals of the Democratic Party, they are on the ascent,” Vance said, continuing:

This is not my papaw’s Democratic party. This is not the party of JFK. Not the party of Franklin Roosevelt. Not even the party of Bill Clinton. These people are looking ahead to the future, and they’re plotting. “How do we seize complete control of one of America’s great political parties?” They are testing with candidates like Abdul El-Sayed. They are testing just how extreme, just how far they can go in a nice, commonsense midwestern state like this one?

“Ladies and gentlemen, I know you. I know this state. And for all the ribbing I give you as an Ohio guy, the fundamental reality is we are cut from the same cloth,” Vance added.
