Laura Loomer Directs JD Vance to Avoid Shaking Mamdani’s Hand at 9/11 Ceremony: ‘From a Place of Concern’

Right-wing provocateur Laura Loomer warned Vice President JD Vance that he’ll live to regret it if he is photographed shaking the hand of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) at an upcoming 9/11 ceremony.

“I’m saying this from a place of concern: Mr. Vice President [JD Vance]: Do not shake [Zohran Mamdani’s] hand when you attend the 9/11 ceremony in New York. It will be a photo you live to regret forever if you shake his hand at the 9/11 memorial. Take my advice. It’s the best advice you will get all week,” Loomer wrote on Tuesday night on X.

Loomer wrote her comment in response to a Mediaite post on New York City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino (R) slamming Mamdani as some 9/11 families have asked the mayor not to attend the ceremony.

Mamdani sparked outrage last week when he signed executive orders and then handed off a ceremonial 9/11 pen to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, who gave it to Ramzi Kassem, the city’s chief legal counsel. Kassem was an attorney for al-Qaeda operative Ahmed al-Darbi.

Loomer expanded her advice to all politicians attending the ceremony, saying she’d rather “chop” off her hand than be photographed with Mamdani. She also noted Mamdani’s association with far-left streamer Hasan Piker.

Vance will be attending the New York ceremony, while President Donald Trump will be speaking at the Pentagon on 9/11.

Trump is reportedly skipping the New York event because he was told he couldn’t give a speech. White House officials denied that was the reason.

“That’s not what I’ve heard. You have a vice president, you have a president, and there are two very frankly — we’d like to be three or four places on 9/11, but you can’t have one person be in multiple locations at the exact same time, and so we just decided as a team that I would go to New York for 9/11 and the president would stay in D.C. to commemorate what happened at the Pentagon because that was a critical part of the tragedy of 9/11 as well,” he told reporters.
