Lara Trump Says MAGA Voters Aren’t ‘Answering Pollsters’ When Confronted With Bad Numbers on Fox News

Lara Trump joined Fox News anchor John Roberts on Tuesday to discuss the latest state of play in the 2026 midterms and warned Democrats not to get too confident given the polls, which she argued are likely way undercounting GOP voters.

Roberts asked during the conversation, “Probably heard Lucas Tomlinson talking about it, the change in sentiment of rural voters. I want to put that back up on the screen again. 63% went for your father-in-law in 2024. That number now supporting the GOP is down to 49%.”

“That’s a change of 14 points to the negative. And then there seems to be problems with Hispanic voters as well. 43% supported Donald Trump in 2024; the support for the GOP is now down to 31%. That is a minus 12-point change. What do you think is going on? Is that being driven by policy, or is it being driven by the fact that, even though he’s out on the stump literally every day, he’s not on the ballot?” he asked.

Lara Trump replied, “Well, he says to vote like he’s on the ballot, so I’ll remind everyone of that for sure. But there have been recent reports that show that there are a lot of these rural and Republican voters who just do not overall trust the polling industry. A lot of them are not even answering pollsters anymore because they really think that the system is totally broken. So I don’t know that those numbers are totally accurate.” She added:

Look, we know what the polls have said, and what they said in 2016, what they said in 2024. And we know what they’re saying right now. But ultimately, the people who come and turn out in this election will make the difference. I think that the problem that the polling industry has, of course, we know that polls likely sway people either to turn out or dissuade them from turning out.

But I think the establishment in the polling industry overall really doesn’t understand the connection that Donald Trump has with voters. And they have never tried to understand him. So they’re really not trying to understand those voters. I think they’re missing the mark oftentimes. And I think on November 4th, you may see a huge disparity between what those polls have shown us all the way up to Election Day in terms and what actually ultimately happens.

Roberts followed up, “Yeah, there are a lot of people and Democrats that I’ve talked to who believe that Democrats are being oversampled in a lot of these polls, so we’ll see if they turn out to be accurate or not. You were mentioning him going out on the campaign trail. This is the blitz this week. Yesterday he was in Kansas, today he’s in North Carolina, tomorrow he’s in South Carolina, Thursday he’s in Iowa, Friday Florida, Saturday in Georgia, Sunday in Michigan. A lot of people would say, places like Kansas, South Carolina, and Florida, why does he need to spend time there? Why do you think he has to?”

“Well, look, he leaves nothing up to chance. And this is a workhorse of a president. Donald Trump is a machine. You’ve heard people who’ve worked with him throughout the course of several campaigns talk about that,” Lara Trump replied, adding:

He doesn’t want to leave anything on the table. And so any place that he feels like he can go make an impact, drive up turnout, he is willing to go. I’m hoping, John, to take my kids to one of those rallies coming up in Florida. And I’ll remind everybody out there as well, look. You are never going to have a president like Donald Trump. There’s no one who’s ever campaigned like he does. There’s never going to be another Trump rally of this magnitude ever again. So I would encourage everybody, get out there, go to these Trump rallies. Again, these are historic. You’re never going to see something like this ever again, and I just think this is a president who wants to work to the bitter end and leave absolutely nothing on the table and nothing to chance.
