Jon Ossoff Ramps Up Jabs at Trump, Warns He’s a ‘Symptom of Something’ Wrong With America

Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) continued his attacks on President Donald Trump during a campaign rally over the weekend as he runs for reelection against Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA).

Ossoff has racked up viral moments on the campaign trail this cycle, with his jab at Trump’s aide, Natalie Harp, grabbing headlines earlier in the month and angering the president. Ossoff insinuated Trump had an overly close relationship with the young aide, who is famously a lavish devotee of the president.

In recent weeks, Ossoff slammed Trump as “the draft-dodging crook president” and over the weekend warned that Trump is representative of a deeper sickness in the country.

“What ails America is much deeper than just Donald Trump and his corruption. Donald Trump is a symptom of something,” Ossoff told supporters, adding:

Donald Trump is what rises when working and middle-class people in the United States for too long have been denied the representation, the fight, the advocacy, the justice and dignity they deserve. And Georgia has an opportunity to make a statement.

In less than two months when these polls close, let’s not ask ourselves what more we might have done. Let’s know that we gave it our all. Let’s send a message again about what the state of Georgia stands for. They might doubt us in the rest of the country, but they doubted us back in 2020 and 2021.

And we sent a powerful message when you elected a black pastor and the young Jewish son of an immigrant to the U.S. Senate in those history-making U. S. Senate runoffs. And the whole country is looking to us again to see what kind of a statement we’ll make this week. So are you all ready to fight? Are you all ready to work? Are you all ready to win? Let’s bring it home again. Thank you so much. Great to be with you.
