Joe Rogan Rips Trump for Renaming Lake Ontario, Suggests Meant to ‘Distract’ from Iran War ‘We Can’t Win’
President Donald Trump changed the name of Lake Ontario to “distract” the public from “the fact that we’re in a war that we can’t win in Iran,” Joe Rogan said Tuesday.
The topic of the name change was introduced as part of the show. “But Lake Ontario has been Lake Ontario forever,” Rogan said. “Isn’t it connected to Ontario?”
Rogan then clarified whether the lake is in the United States or in Canada.
His guest, comedian Brian Simpson, insisted, “President Trump, you got to stop f*cking with the acronyms, man. Because I learned the Great Lakes, but I’ve learned HOMES. That’s how you can name all the lakes, right?”
Simpson was referencing the HOMES acronym for Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, and Superior. The duo discussed the location of the lakes and whether they feed into the ocean when Simpson asked, “But what’s the purpose of changing the name?”
“[It] could distract you from the fact that we’re in a war that we can’t win in Iran,” Rogan answered. “It doesn’t make any sense. Like, who cares if it’s Lake Ontario?”
U.S. Central Command announced Tuesday that the United States had conducted military airstrikes in Iran. The latest airstrikes were ordered following Iranian attacks against American soldiers stationed in the Middle East.
“Today at 12 p.m. ET, U.S. forces began striking Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran. The strikes follow recent attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members deployed to the region,” CENTCOM posted on social media.
Trump previously promised he would order the strikes after American troops were attacked in Jordan.
