Jeanine Pirro Fumes at Reporter Asking About Trump’s Push to Revisit Reflecting Pool Case: ‘Ugh! That’s Why I Didn’t Call on You First!’
U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro has clearly had enough of the reflecting pool saga, repeatedly shunning a reporter who asked about President Donald Trump’s demand that she re-examine the case.
Pirro was taking questions from reporters during a Wednesday press conference on cryptocurrency fraud when the reporter asked about Trump’s desire to have Pirro “revisit the reflecting pool case.”
“Ugh, why did I know that was coming? That’s why I didn’t call on you first,” she said. “Well, first of all, I’m here to talk about one of the biggest problems that American people have right now. And I’m not going to talk about any other issue. I know you’d love to, but I’m not going there.”
When the reporter reminded her that the reflecting pool case is important to Trump, Pirro said, “The president has the right to decide what he wants to do and what is important. And what he’s shown us already is that through the executive order, that this cryptocurrency fraud on Americans is a priority. There is an executive order, and there is a focus with resources for us to do it.”
Moving on, she said, “Next! Not on the pool.”
When the reporter tried to ask about the reflecting pool case again a short time later, Pirro appeared enraged.
“NO! NO! And no!” she shouted. “Who wants to know about this? How many times do I have to say no?! I am not talking about that. Anyone want to talk about this case?”
The reflecting pool case began over the summer with the arrest and indictment of Olympic canoeist David Hearn, who was accused of vandalizing the reflecting pool near the Lincoln Memorial.
Pirro dropped the reflecting pool case in July, saying the evidence showed the damage was the result of a botched installation, not vandalism.
But Trump disagreed, blasting Pirro’s decision and saying she had “folded like an umbrella.”
The president later went on Truth Social to demand that Pirro reverse course while trashing Hearn’s defense lawyer Norm Eisen as a “Political Hack” and “TRUMP DERANGED SLEAZEBAG.”
He wrote: “U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro should re-visit her hastily made decision, especially since it turned out that the “gentleman” involved is a big player in ActBlue, a disgraceful fundraising SCAM, and is represented by a TRUMP DERANGED SLEAZEBAG, Political Hack Lawyer, Norm Eisen, and CREW, a group that uses “charity” for political purposes which is, to the best of my knowledge, ILLEGAL!”
