‘He’s a Good Person’: Trump Says He’ll ‘Let the Families Figure Out’ Whether Max Miller Should Resign Amid Abuse Allegations

President Donald Trump prefers to let the “families figure out” what to do following abuse allegations against former aide Rep. Max Miller (R-OH).

Trump was asked Monday if Miller should resign. “It’s a very sad thing. I know Max, he’s a good person, I mean, I always thought he was a very good person,” the president answered. “And I’m going to let the families figure that out. His family, I know they’re working on it. It’s a very sad thing.”

Miller has so far insisted he will remain in his reelection campaign. His ex-wife Emily Moreno, daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno, has accused Miller of “violent and dangerous behavior.” Per a report from The New York Times, Emily accused her ex-husband of haivig “scalded her chest and stomach by throwing hot water from a skillet at her body; held a gun to her head; pushed her against a wall and hit her head; and fractured their daughter’s collarbone and bruised her shoulder.”

Sen. Moreno wrote on X Sunday, “As he has admitted privately, Max Miller needs serious psychological help. He is a danger to my daughter, and I hold my breath every minute he has custody of my granddaughter.”

He continued, “If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office, Max Miller fails them. He should not serve in the House of Representatives. I believe Max Miller needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake. I believe he should not be free to continue endangering others until he does.”

Miller and Emily were married from 2022 to 2025. Miller has denied the allegations.

Trump was also asked about the allegations against Miller while boarding Air Force One on Sunday. “I mean, so far, it’s accusations,” he told reporters. “I’ll be looking at it.”

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine previously said “the accusations are certainly very serious and certainly troubling.”
