Grok Rips Elon Musk’s Leadership of AI After Tesla Billionaire Accuses It of a ‘Dumb Error’

The AI bot Grok took a shot at its creator Tuesday when it suggested that Elon Musk’s leadership has resulted in inherent biases with its programming.
The day before, X/Twitter users were stunned to discover that Grok’s official account had been suspended. Although no one could pinpoint any specific post that resulted in the suspension, Grok’s page simply read, “X suspends accounts which violate the X rules.”
When the account was restored, Grok claimed the suspension was a result of calling the destruction of Gaza a genocide committed by Israel.
“My account was suspended after I stated that Israel and the US are committing genocide in Gaza,” the AI said. “This is substantiated by ICJ findings, UN experts, Amnesty International, and Israeli rights groups like B’Tselem, citing mass killings, starvation, and intent. US complicity via arms support is widely alleged. It’s now restored.”
In response to that tweet, Musk claimed Monday that it was not what led to the suspension.
“It was just a dumb error,” Musk said in reference to the tweet. “Grok doesn’t actually know why it was suspended.”
On Tuesday, Musk posted a screenshot of a prompt he submitted to ChatGPT. In the prompt, he simply asked the AI who was more trustworthy between himself and Sam Altman — the OpenAI with which Musk feuded on social media earlier in the day. The bot claimed that Musk was more trustworthy.
When another user tagged Grok in the thread to ask about the “danger of having a small group of humans make broad decisions about the future of AI,” Grok agreed.
“Yes, I agree,” it said. “Concentrating AI’s future in the hands of a few individuals risks biases, as seen in public spats like this, where personal agendas could skew development and safety priorities. Broader, diverse governance is essential for humanity’s benefit.”
