Father of Girl Maimed By Illegal Immigrant Goes Off on Democratic Lawmakers in Searing Testimony: ‘I Reject’ Your Sympathy

The father of a young girl who is permanently disabled after she was maimed in a car wreck caused by an illegal immigrant went off on Democratic lawmakers during a Tuesday Congressional hearing, fuming they didn’t seem to give a damn about stopping illegal immigration or helping protect Americans from suffering the same fate as his seven-year-old.

Marcus Coleman delivered his searing remarks while Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) looked on.

“I reject your guys’ sympathy, to be honest with you. There’s no way you guys are sorry,” Coleman vented. “Not one of you guys have ever called me, not one of you guys have ever reached out to me, not one of you guys have sat there and seen me in the hallways and said, ‘Hey, sorry about your daughter.’ You guys do it right here while you’re grandstanding on top of your soapbox.”

Two years earlier, an illegal immigrant from India who was issued a commercial driver’s license in California crashed his big rig into the Coleman family vehicle. Dalilah Coleman fractured her skull, broke her femur, and suffered a traumatic brain injury in the wreck, which forced her into a coma for three weeks.

She has since been diagnosed with diplegic cerebral palsy and global developmental delay. The heartbreaking event spurred Rep. David Rouzer (R-NC) to introduce a bill titled “Dalilah’s Law” which would bar states from issuing CDLs to non-citizens and would revoke licenses already approved; several other versions of the bill have been brought up, but it has not been passed.

Coleman slammed the liberal lawmakers during his testimony for not supporting the bill or offering changes which would lead them to vote for it. He said they’re more interested in boosting sanctuary city and state policies which harbor illegal immigrants from President Donald Trump’s crackdown.

“You guys sit there and you guys talk about ICE invading cities… if the state sat there and told ’em come pick up the person, it would take one or two people to do it, Coleman said. “Instead they gotta send an army out there because now they have to look for them.”

He wrapped up his time by saying, “My daughter doesn’t deserve this… everyday something is happening to somebody. And it is your guys’ fault. I hold each and every one of you responsible for it, and I always will.”
