Bobby Pulido, the 52-year-old Tejano music artist who launched a campaign to unseat Rep. Monica De La Cruz (R-TX) in the Lone Star State’s 15th congressional district last September, has a long, sordid history of making misogynistic comments about and sharing explicit content of women online.

In one particularly notable tweet from June 2016 that has not previously been reported on, Pulido, who is running as a Democrat, shared an image of then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and actress Chloë Grace Moretz each holding up donuts, the hole of the one held by Clinton appearing noticeably larger than Moretz’s. He captioned the post, “Mija, esto es lo que te pasa después de un parto natural…” or “Girl, this is what happens to you after a natural childbirth…” in an apparent reference to female genitalia. He was 43 years old at the time.

The post was deleted on Tuesday after Mediaite reached out to the Pulido campaign for comment.

A Pulido spokeswoman told Mediaite, “Years ago — Bobby sometimes used Twitter to joke around, but he understands not everything was funny or appropriate. This one was regrettable.”

More recently, in a 2023 Instagram post, he shared an explicit photograph of a woman climbing onto the stage at one of his concerts and inadvertently exposing herself. He captioned that post “Quien dijo que no tenía pegue?” or “Who said he didn’t have sex appeal?” Facing widespread criticism, he eventually took the post down, but not before chiding another fan for “judging” him and complaining that “Everyone wants to be the center of attention.”

The two posts add more color to an already troubling portrait of the middle-aged congressional candidate, who, as Fox News has previously reported, has also made a habit of using his platform to promote pornography.

In 2013, he told his followers that “they say that there’s a website called youporn and that it’s cool. They say…” and shared a link to XVideos, a notoriously unscrupulous porn site, while suggestively asking “homemade porn while sleep-deprived?”

“It’s impossible to have Twitter and not watch porn,” he asserted in 2014. The following year, he shared a YouPorn link — this time suggesting that his account had been hacked.

Pulido was a top recruit for Democrats this cycle, according to Politico. “I have strongly encouraged Bobby to run for Texas 15,” former Democratic congressman Filemon Vela told the outlet. “His professional popularity, his political acumen and his center-right disposition make him the ideal candidate for that district. The Democratic Party needs to start getting smart about the candidates that we put forth. Bobby will take that seat back.”

Pulido is facing off against a woman, Dr. Ada Cuellar, in the 15th congressional district’s Democratic primary on March 3.
