Erika Kirk posted a heartrending tribute to Charlie Kirk as she marked the one year since his stunning assassination — sharing a photo from their wedding day alongside a tribute to the late conservative activist.
Kirk, the conservative podcaster and founder of Turning Point USA, was 31 when he was fatally shot in the neck while addressing students at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025, with painful video of the assassination quickly spreading across social media.
Erika Kirk has since taken over as the CEO of TPUSA in her husband’s place.
The black-and-white image, shared on Instagram, shows the couple — who shared two young children –standing side by side on their wedding day, their hands tightly clasped.
Erika, wearing a white gown and veil, is pictured from the side, while Charlie is seen in a dark suit.
Their faces are cropped out of the intimate shot, putting the focus entirely on their intertwined hands, with the words “…until Heaven” superimposed across the center of the photo.

Days earlier, Kirk reflected on the year since her husband’s death in a deeply personal New York Times op-ed, recalling returning home the day after his assassination and seeing his toothbrush, towel, and pillow still where he had left them.
She also shared advice she received from Second Lady Usha Vance after telling Vance, “I don’t know how I’m going to do this.”
Vance urged her to “Just get through the next 15 minutes” — words Kirk said carried her through birthdays, holidays and other milestones without her husband.
A year later, Kirk wrote that she has learned grief and joy can coexist.
“I can miss him with every part of me and still laugh with our children,” she wrote. “I can have a broken heart and still experience joy.”
Conservatives flooded social media with tributes to Charlie Kirk on Thursday, including a remembrance from President Donald Trump’s White House.
