Don Lemon Claims With Straight Face He’s ‘Not Against Donald Trump’ or ‘Liberal’

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon is insisting he’s “not against Donald Trump.”

The journalist, who was arrested by federal agents in January during an anti-ICE protest at a church in Minnesota, insisted in an episode of The Don Lemon Show this week that he has no personal ill will toward the president.

Lemon made the remark after playing video of an interview he did on the street with a man who said Trump could use more time to fix the problems in the country.

The man quickly pointed out he knew that Lemon “didn’t like” Trump:

DON LEMON: He said, “Look, we need uh four more years to get this country in shape.” Do you think?

MAN: I mean, to get it in shape —

LEMON: To do what they want to do. He said, “Give him a second chance.”

MAN: I mean, I know you against him. So, it’s like it’s f*cked up cuz it’s like if I say, “Yeah, he really do need another four years, which he probably do.”

I’m probably going to sound like an *sshole to everybody who hate Trump. But like to be honest, four years is not enough time to fix a country. Especially not the greatest country in the world.

So if Obama had like 10 years, you feel me? Or 12 years, I feel like this country will be way better. I think Trump got thrown off a little bit with Biden for the four years or whatever, you feel me? And now he back with his four. But um yeah, you know, I ain’t against him just because he Trump, you feel me? He’s still our president.

LEMON: What about his policies?

MAN: Some, yeah, some no. But that’s like every president.

LEMON: Hit pause please.

Okay. So when when I do these, just so you know, I like to let people talk rather than interrupt them because sometimes they’re on a float. When he says, “I’m against him” — I’m not against Donald Trump. I’m not against a person in general.

I’m against lies. I don’t like his policies. I don’t like the way he treats people.

So when he says, “I know that you’re against him,” not in the way that you think.

You think that I’m against him just because I’m liberal or you think that I’m liberal, because I’m not. I’m an independent.

But if you know, if you think that I’m against someone because of that then that that you’re discounting all kinds of reasoning that go along with why I may not like his policies or agree with his policies.

But then when people talk about policies, when they say I like his policies, I ask them specifically, what do you like about it? What policies?
