Charlie Kirk Show Hosts Awkwardly Backpedal After Getting Ripped for Praising Senator’s Viral Fail

Andrew Kolvet and Blake Neff, co-hosts of The Charlie Kirk Show, were forced to backpedal Wednesday after they initially celebrated Sen. Eric Schmitt’s (R-MO) attempt to ensnare former special counsel Jack Smith in a basketball lie the day before.

The pair “covered the story” when it broke, and were soon besieged with texts who were clarifying Schmitt’s big mistake — in an attempt to link Smith with President Donald Trump’s foe, Georgia DA Fani Willis, the senator accused Smith of attending a men’s Atlanta Hawks game on a specific night. Smith clarified he had, in fact, attended a women’s Iowa Hawkeyes game in Maryland that evening.

The hosts looped in conservative commentator Julie Kelly and asked her to speak about the “faux pas.”

“So it looks like Eric Schmitt, Senator Schmitt, and his staff were trying to tie Jack Smith to Fani Willis and Nathan Wade and the timing sort of when that RICO indictment went down in, I believe it was 2024,” Kelly said.

She continued:

But anyway, [they were] trying to tie Jack Smith to Fani Willis and Nathan Wade by saying that Jack Smith attended an Atlanta Hawks basketball game in early 2024. Jack Smith looked very puzzled; [he] appeared to be trying to jog his memory. And then he said, “No, it was an Iowa Hawkeyes basketball game. I believe it was in Iowa.”

And so that was a little bit of egg on their face. But unfortunately, Andrew, it did give the media, which is always so quick to protect and defend Jack Smith and his team of thugs, gave them a diversion that they needed to, yes, look away from all the latest developments.
