Ilhan Omar’s DC Home Reportedly Raided by DHS Agents

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) Washington, D.C., home has been raided by agents from the Department of Homeland Security, Fox News Digital reported on Monday morning.

“Today in the Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice,” a DOJ spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

The statement went on: “This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation.”

It’s not yet known whether Omar was in the home at the time of the raid.

A spokesperson for Omar released a statement to Axios later Monday that read:

This raid by Trump’s DHS is an outrageous abuse of power and an unprecedented escalation in the weaponization of federal law enforcement to target political enemies. For a decade, Donald Trump has relentlessly targed Congresswoman Ilhan Omar with inflammatory rhetroric, repoeatedly putting a target on her back. Now, those attacks have escalated to a pointless federal raid. The Congresswoman has done nothing wrong. No president should be able to use the power of the federal government to intimidate his political enemies.

Omar later posted about the raid herself, saying, “I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.”

Omar’s disgust toward DHS is no secret. Just this weekend, she posted a screed against the agency after an officer in New York shot a man in his car while his 5-year-old son sat in the vehicle.

“ICE is out of control,” she posted on Saturday. “This week, a five year-old child watched ICE shoot his father. Trump’s rogue agency has shot more than 43 people in two years, murdering eight. There is no reforming this abhorrent agency. Abolish ICE.”

Omar has been a target of President Donald Trump and his allies for years, with MAGA influencers such as Laura Loomer calling on Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin to deport Omar just last month.

As news of the raid emerged on Monday, Loomer was among those cheering.

“Immigration officials with DHS raided jihadist Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s home this morning,” Loomer posted on X. “She is being investigated for immigration fraud after marrying her brother. This is what I voted for! Deport her back to Somalia!”

Trump himself has repeatedly said Omar should “get the hell out of our country.”
