Megyn Kelly Claims ‘So Many’ CNN Hosts Are ‘Homely’: ‘People Don’t Want to Look at That!’

Megyn Kelly argued it’s “too late” for CNN to rebrand as she ranted against its “homely” anchors, something she said the late Roger Ailes “would never have allowed.”

Kelly joined News24’s Paul Murray on his show on Wednesday and at one point she got into the state of cable news. She honed in on CNN, arguing the cable news network is “slightly more fair” to President Donald Trump and Republicans since Mark Thompson took over in 2023, but it’s still “too late” for the company to change.

“They’ve been slightly more fair since that guy took over than they were in the Jeff Zucker years, but it’s still terrible. They still obviously lean far left. Their coverage and their story selection reflects that, the audience knows that,” she said.

Kelly argued CNN anchors and hosts “hate anybody who is in the center or right of center.”

“So they’re not forgiven. They didn’t own it. These are the same anchors there. Am I suddenly supposed to think the Jake Tappers of the world are open-minded to Trump and his agenda?” she said.

Kelly, a former Fox News host, doesn’t see much hope in the coming merger between Paramount and Warner Bros., the latter of which is the parent company of CNN. Paramount is currently under the ownership of David Ellison, whose father Larry Ellison is a close ally of the president.

Kelly argued Fox News dominates the cable news ratings because they understand the “bells of whistles” of selling news, something learned under Ailes, who led the company until his resignation in 2016. Kelly blasted the “homely” anchors of CNN, including Wolf Blitzer, and declared Ailes would have never “allowed” such presentation.

She said:

It’s too late. By the way, if you’re still a cable news watcher who wants a cable operation that’s more fair to Trump, you have it. They’re not going to leave Fox News. Fox, for years now, has been fair to Republicans, not always to Trump, but more so these days than the others, but Fox understands you got to put some bells and whistles on this thing, you got to make the screen pop, you’ve got to keep things dynamic, and they know how to do it. They’ve been doing it for 30 years now and the others have never gotten it. Never. Just to give you one basic example, why are there so many homely people up and down the rundown of CNN to this day? Roger Ailes would never have allowed it! I’m just gonna say, people don’t want to look at that when they’re — they can look at anything! But CNN has to take itself super seriously, we’ve got a real journalist, and suddenly, you’re staring at Wolf Blitzer, ah!
