Lil Wayne Praises Trump for Building White House Ballroom: ‘I’m So Glad!’
Count Lil Wayne out when it comes to complaining about President Donald Trump’s White House ballroom project.
The “Fireman” rapper said he is all for the much-publicized and much-criticized ballroom the president is currently building during a Tuesday appearance on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast.
“I’m so glad to hear Trump say — when they was mad at him about building the ballroom — and he was like, everything we do we have to do it on the damn lawn,” Wayne said. “So people who don’t know nothin’ hearin’ that thinkin’ he just bein’ Trump — no, for real, I was glad to hear him saying that.”
Wayne said he was speaking about the need for the ballroom based on his personal experience. He performed at a 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop event spearheaded by former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2023; Wayne remembered the event but had a hard time remembering Harris.
“I did meet miss, uh… who was the vice president?” he asked.
He then pointed at his buddy who tagged along, who reminded him, “Oh, Kamala.”
Give Wayne a break for the hazy recall, though, because he was smoking a fat joint during the podcast.
He shared his opinion one year after Trump announced he was building the new ballroom. Construction started in September 2025 and the East Wing of the White House was demolished a month later to make room – a move pundits like MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough complained about on TV.
Others have floated conspiracy theories, like MeidasTouch podcaster Anthony Davis arguing Trump wants to “hunker down” in the ballroom and never leave after the 2028 election.
After the latest assassination attempt against him at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April, Trump argued the ballroom was vital for security reasons.
“What happened last night is exactly the reason that our great Military, Secret Service, Law Enforcement and, for different reasons, every President for the last 150 years, have been DEMANDING that a large, safe, and secure Ballroom be built ON THE GROUNDS OF THE WHITE HOUSE,” Trump argued. “This event would never have happened with the Militarily Top Secret Ballroom currently under construction at the White House. It cannot be built fast enough!”
