Holdout Juror in Lindsay Clancy Trial Tells Fox News He Never Had Reasonable Doubt — Pushing Back on Claims Made By Other Jurors
The lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial told Fox News he did not have reasonable doubt the Massachusetts mother killed her three children due to insanity — pushing back on a claim several jurors have made since the mistrial was declared.
Michael Desronvil said that was never the case during his first sit-down TV interview with Fox News anchor Kayleigh McEnany; a sneak preview was aired on Tuesday, one day before the full interview airs on Fox & Friends.
“Did you have reasonable doubt?” McEnany asked.
“No,” Desronvil answered.
That contradicted claims made by several other jurors, including Roni Carlson, the jury foreperson who said Desronvil “admitted he had reasonable doubt.”
“I started filling out the forms, I was so excited,” she told NBC 10 in Boston. “I wrote my signature on each one, and then he said, ‘But I’m still not going to say that she’s not guilty by reason of insanity.'”
Another juror named Paula Devlin griped, “He had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children.”
Desronvil told McEnany there were a few “tense” moments during the trial, especially during deliberation.
“I definitely had a lot of evidence to back up my claim, but because out of respect of the other jurors and the court system, I will put that to sleep for now,” he added.
His interview comes after the trial dominated national headlines in August and September, as Clancy faced first-degree murder charges for strangling her three children.
Clancy admitted she killed her kids — who were ages 5, 3, and 8 months old when they were slayed in 2023 — but her defense team argued she was not criminally responsible because she was experiencing postpartum psychosis. Following days of deliberation, the judge declared a mistrial on Sept. 4, after Desronvil sided against 11 others who deemed Clancy not guilty.
The full interview will air on Fox & Friends at 8:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
