‘Father Time Will Get There’: Ex-Obama Aides Joke About Trump Dying When Asked if Anyone Can ‘Stop’ Him

Progressive Pod Save America co-host Tommy Vietor told the show’s fans to not worry about President Donald Trump being around too much longer, because even though he’s survived multiple assassination attempts, he has to die sooner or later.

The former spokesperson for President Barack Obama joked about Trump heading to the funeral parlor during the Tuesday episode of the podcast, right after co-host Jon Favreau read a Facebook question from a listener asking, “Is there anyone who can stop this orange piece of sh*t?”

“Iran’s doing a pretty good job,” Vietor quipped at first.

“I think the answer’s ‘no,'” Favreau said at the same time.

Vietor then kept his apparent comedy routine going by adding, “I think, uh, heart disease, always got a shot.”

“Yeah, right,” co-host Jon Lovett backed him up, while Favreau chuckled at Vietor’s “joke.”

Vietor then deadpanned, “Father Time will get there eventually.”

Lovett kept the supposedly funny rally going by awkwardly adding, “The hardness of the veins sort of gets us all in the end.”

At that point, Favreau seemed like he wanted to wrap up all the death talk ASAP.

“Anyway, uh, you know, it’s 2026, almost 2027, so pretty soon we won’t be asking that question,” he said, before pivoting to the next fan question.

Their little exchange obviously comes after Trump was targeted in the 2024 Butler, Pennsylvania assassination attempt, when a bullet hit his ear before killing rally attendee Corey Comperatore. Trump has been targeted in a few other murder attempts since then, including by a crazed man who attempted to storm the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April and shoot the president and several members of his administration.

Trump turned 80 in June, making him the second-oldest president ever, after Joe Biden left office at the age of 82.

Watch above.
