You Can See Everything, the upcoming Nathan Fielder documentary about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, has been given an R-rating for “graphic nudity” and language, SFGATE reported on Thursday.
Holmes was charged with three counts of wire fraud and one count of attempting to commit wire fraud and sentenced to 11 years in jail in 2022.
That sentence has since been reduced, and she will be moved to a halfway house in August 2027.
In the full trailer that debuted on Wednesday, it’s revealed that Fielder was invited to live in Holmes’ house. The trailer also features Holmes’ partner, Billy Evans, who Fielder questions about whether or not he can trust her.
You Can See Everything will be released on Oct. 16. Filming began just over 30 days before Holmes went to prison in 2023, and production continued in secret for three years.
The trailer begins with Fielder addressing Holmes’ crimes directly.
“You really feel you did nothing wrong?” he asks.
“I did not,” Holmes replies.
“So where did things get lost? Like how are you where you are right now?” Fielder continues.
“I wish I know, you know? I don’t know. I don’t feel like I understand that,” she says.
In 2022, a federal judge in California sentenced Holmes to 11 years and three months in prison for defrauding Theranos investors of hundreds of millions of dollars. She faced up to 20 years behind bars.
U.S. attorney Stephanie Hinds said at the time, “The jurors in this 15-week trial navigated a complex case amid a pandemic and scheduling obstacles. The guilty verdicts in this case reflect Ms. Holmes’ culpability in this large-scale investor fraud, and she must now face sentencing for her crimes.”
Holmes raised money from venture capitalists for what she described as a breakthrough in blood testing at Theranos. She founded the company in 2003 when she was just 19 years old.
