Jimmy Kimmel’s Late-Night Show Allegedly Ending After Next Season – But ABC Calls Reporting ‘Speculative’

President Donald Trump may have reason to celebrate soon, as Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, is reportedly ending in 2027 after its next season.

Sources told the New York Post’s Page Six that Kimmel’s contract will not be extended, and he will be exiting ABC after 24 years on the air.

“His contract is not getting extended,” a source familiar with the situation told the Post.

What will reportedly be the last season of Jimmy Kimmel Live! is set to launch on Tuesday, and the final episode would air in May of 2027.

An ABC spokesperson cast doubt on the reporting, calling it “inaccurate” and “purely speculative.”

“[This] information is inaccurate – any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative,” the spox said.

The late-night host has an unusual agreement with ABC where he signs year-to-year deals.

Kimmel has long been a vocal critic of Trump, and the president has lashed out at the comedian publicly on multiple occasions.

Kimmel earned pushback from conservatives last year over comments made related to the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kimmel was ultimately suspended for a week amid the backlash.

The late-night host has not backed off politics since then.

Kimmel’s show recently saw guest hosts fill in for Kimmel, including longtime Trump rival Rosie O’Donnell, who literally moved to Ireland because of Trump’s 2024 presidential victory.

O’Donnell did not shy away from Trump during her multi-night stint, going right after the president on her first night.

“I’ve been living in Ireland for the past two years because of Mango Mussolini,” she said. “I read that Project 2025 and said, ‘Gotta get myself out of here.’ And I decided to go to Ireland, a place where people are driven to drink regardless of who’s running their country.”
