White House Follows Through on Trump Media Ban Threat as MS NOW Denied Access

The White House appears to be following through on President Donald Trump’s media ban threat, with MS NOW revealing their reporters have already been denied access.

The network released a statement on Saturday morning saying their reporters were denied access to the White House grounds, just a day after Trump made his threat on social media.

“Earlier this morning MS NOW journalists were denied access to the White House grounds. The White House belongs to the American people and the decisions made inside are funded by our tax dollars,” the network’s statement reads. “MS NOW intends to take any and all steps necessary to defend our First Amendment rights and the essential role of independent journalism in our democracy. We stand firmly behind our anchors, our reporters, and our newsroom. We will continue to report on the President, the administration, and the issues that impact the American people.”

MS NOW correspondent Akayla Gardner was supposed to be reporting from the White House on Saturday morning, but she reported on The Weekend that her press badge had been disabled.

“I showed my badge, and then when I was inside where we have magnetometers, I attempted to scan my badge, which we have to do to get into the White House grounds. It did not work. There was a red beeping light, and so the officer asked me to hand over my badge. He said that it was disabled. I asked why I could not get inside; he said it was above him,” she reported.

Gardner said her producer’s badge was still working, but they had to confiscate her disabled badge, unable to explain why.

This is the first follow through by the White House since Trump raged at CNN, MS NOW, and Politico and vowed to ban them from the White House “effective immediately.”

The president wrote on Truth Social:

I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW (who recently changed their name from MSNBC due to lack of viewership and credibility!), and Politico (The recipients of an illegal and ridiculous $8 Million Dollar subscription, an All Time Record, directly from the United States Government, under Crooked Joe Biden, in order to keep them “alive.” Seems like corruption to me!), from the White House as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS!
