TMZ published new text messages Thursday from the Jane Doe, who is accusing seven of her Cornell University classmates of sexual assault in what is being called the “Cornell 7” case.

The case has grabbed the attention of the country and led to a fierce culture war battle over the highly sensitive topic and disturbing allegations. TMZ dropped its latest report with a red siren emoji under the headline, “EXCLUSIVE: Cornell alleged sexual assault, Jane Doe says ‘gangbang … our body our choice.’”

The texts TMZ published show an exchange between Jane Doe and Jonathan Newell — a Chi Phi fraternity brother accused by Jane Doe of taking part in the gang rape while she was intoxicated and who allegedly sent a Snapchat message inviting others into the room. TMZ reported:

On the evening of October 21, 2024, Jonathan apologizes to Jane and says, “You’re an amazing person and I genuinely hope ur not catching as much heat from this as we r. We’ve been shutting down any stories we’ve heard but again I’m so so sorry.”

Jane responds, “aw jonathan i really appreciate this text. my memories super clouded too. I think we were all way to f***ing drunk and high.”

She goes on … “i really liked being w u and matt. so anything anyone has to say about the gamgbang is out of their jurisdiction.”

After referencing the “gamgbang” … she says “i don’t think we should feel any shame for the part. our body our choice asf.”

Newell, a sophomore at the time of the October 2024 incident, was expelled for his actions alongside follow fraternity brother Matthew Ingalls. The New York Times later reported that Newell “has told investigators that his sexual encounter with Jane Doe was consensual and that he did not remember sending the Snapchat message, the records show.”

TMZ adds that the texts also show “a reference to not just a three-way between Jonathan and Matthew Ingalls, but a 4th person.” The text reads, “also yes while it may have been nice for like only 4 people to have been around, yall were both super out of it and they should have taken it on themselves to leave. at the end of the day you, matt, and i were in your bed and they didn’t need to get up in that.”

Jane Doe also alludes to having had an encounter with “i really do love u and matt and i promise i wont get quiet and weird w u like i did last time.”
